I followed the answer to a previous question about the same problem and when I went intoMy Computer etc I found the following under Sound, Video and Game Controllers. No yellow ticks since someone aked before!
Audio codes
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
Signa-Tel High Def Audio Codec
Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio device
Video Codecs

Thanks ACthetroll but I wouldn't have a clue where to start to uninstall/reinstall! I have plenty of experience in using all the Office programs but on the actual internal workings of the PC I am useless!
