Read Receipt facility on Freeserve

If I opt for a Read Receipt response when emailing somebody on Freeserve do they have the facility to acknowledge this?. (I know they can choose not to, but I'm unsure whether this facility exists on all e-mail systems or only on some of them.)

Yes, but if, like me, they have set their client to "Never respond to receipt requests", they won't even be aware that you have requested a receipt.

Thanks for your response. I hadn't realised there was such an option as "Never respond to receipt requests". which may possibly explain why I never get a receipt.
