I am trying to set up the d link wireless router to my pc. the installation guide says to connect the router via ethernet cable to the pc. However i do not have an ethernet port on the back of the pc. Any tips on how to overcome this problem as i cannot use the usb adapter until i have installed this way.

Thanks in advance.

I had to buy an ethernet card for my pc - but it was very cheap and genuinely a doddle to install.

Don't beleive them - you can install the router with the wireless adaptor- Install the wireless adaptor on your PC-

Then boot up the router open Internet Explorer or Firefox find the IP address from the instructions typically something like 192.168.0.1 enter into the address bar you will see a log on box you need the login details the admin name and password (will be in the instructions ) you will be on the router configuration page

Enter the details relating to your ISP -you need to get these first - when entered the router will connect

When all is well enable WPA PSK encryption on the router and on the wireless device on the PC

Then you're finished!!
you then
