I'm sure taking Oil of Evening Primrose is good for PMS, menopause etc, but once you start taking it are you on it for life ? If so, should I give it to my teenage daughter who has period pain ?

i don't honestly think it would do any good for period pain, it's not a pain reliever, it's more for the pms. i took it for about 4-5 years and really didn't notice any difference, although some ladies do swear by it. it's one of those things that even if it doesn't do much good, isn't doing any harm. i'd ask your doctor or google it up and find out more about it to see if it's worth giving to your daughter. my own opinion is that it's not.
I've taken it for years. I started taking it because of problem periods - sore boobs, bloating etc. and found it to be a great help. I took it all through the 'change' as I couldn't take HRT, again I thought it was a great help. Now I've been advised by my doc to carry on taking it for joint pain.
Whether it's really helped or if I thought it did, who knows. I shall just carry on regardless - it can't hurt.
