really? sounds like a cool place to work! although i should imagine you get very bored very quick! :P i work in a call centre answering 999 calls for yorkshire area. so what do you actually do? i mean whats you "role" as it were? lol! i sound like a detective!

ha im a scaffolder but the jobs coming to an end so there is not much going on at the moment so im sat in the office waiting for a job to come in. I take it theres not much happening at your end either

nah, not much. tis a quiet night, which is good really. ive just had a week off so its a nice start back. im working, tue, wed and thurs nights, so i cant complain really! just out of curiosity? how do you get to those oil riggs in the north sea? do you stay out there when your shifts over? do you get flown back home? lol :P i am presuming your from england!

yes from england plymouth. i do 2 weeks on 2weeks off and we use helicopters to get us on and off still got another week left yet untill i get home

lol! sounds like fun! hehe, just had a stupid memory from a simpsons episode where they have a krusty burger place on a rig! Bet you miss home sometimes, i know i would. has anything "interesting" every happened there? ya know, like, something nearly explodes? lol! actually, what do you do in an emergency? i mean, can you just ring 999 and say "im on an oil rig!" lol - id be reluctant to believe you! lol! we get some crazy calls sometimes but unfortunatley i cant talk about them - data protection etc!

yea think i have seen that episode. The gas arlam has gone off a couple of times and one of the pipes have burst before but thats about it if there was a big explotion we either run for the life boats or jump in the water and in this wether you would not last 2 mins

ah! i can imagine! the cold would kill nice and quick - i say nice, no way would that be nice, still, id rather drown than be set on fire! :P sorry, its a little inconsiderate of me to say these things, think of me like a kid, innocent curiority! Id ask a solider in the middle of a war what he would do if a grenade came and landed next to his feet! i should be a journalist! :P so whats the thing you miss most after 2 weeks away from the main land?

the things i miss the most is the beer and the kids and the wife i suppose but its not to bad because when i got 2 weeks off it makes up for the things i missed

i remember when i lived in peru in the city for a while, and the thing i missed more than anything was the peace and quiet of the countryside, me living in the country and everything. hey, ever had a wierd craving at stupid o'clock? im craving some proper nice indian food! really spicy!
