My 9 month old eats solid food. He has meats and veggie, and fruits. I want to start feeding him some new foods like refried beans, is this safe?

Yes, absolutely. Just start him on one new food at a time (with a week or so in between) so you can tell if he's allergic to something. Don't give him any honey until he's 1, because it could make him very sick. Otherwise, go wild!
too true! all my children (I have 3) started on curries and chinese food from 9mths and they LOVED it!!

IMHO I'd take it a little easy on curries.  Too much spicy food at an early age is not good for the bowels, especially with the colourings they use nowadays(like Sunset Yellow and the other one I can't remember the name of they use in Tikka Masala!)  A little in moderation should be OK.

I'd stick with the meat(white preferably, chicken etc) veg and fruit. You could also try a bit of fish now and then.  Spaghettia/pasta wouldn't be a bad idea either.
