The USB ports on my laptop are damaged. Can I repair them myself and if so how? And if not would it cost a lot to get repaired?

You could buy some replacement PCB mount USB sockets from somewhere like CPC and fit them yourself, but you'd probably invalidate you laptop's warranty. If they're offboard (ie. on a wire connecting to the motherboard) it'd be much easier, you'd only need to change wires rather than actual soldering of parts.
