Well it looks like time is going to run out on us this year I'm afraid folks, I'm all Googled out!

Think I'll take a guess at Births 3, rather than not send anything in. I just know I'm going to kick myself when I find out what the answer is! Well done and Thanks to everyone anyway...

I too have to admit defeat but will send my entry with a guess for Births 3. Perhaps if any of us does win we could post a note on here. I won't hold my breath!

Thanks to all for the support this year and hope you will all be back to try again in 2008.
Had this back from askaLibrarian

Thank you for your question, which was passed on to York Library to follow up. We are looking into it and so far the only suggestion we can make is Tenderwire by Claire Kilroy, which was published by Faber last year. It is about a female violinist but unfortunately we don't have a copy here to check the giving birth part. I'll let you know any more information as I get it. York Reference Library

Another suggestion which may amount to nothing, and to late for most of us who don't live in London - but at least there's AskALibrarian for next year's stickler!
Question Author
Does anyone know if all the answers refer to books published by Faber? If that is the case it could help narrow searches when we get really stuck in the future.
I came across Tenderwire - it was certainly about a violinist but she ended up in hospital with an early miscarriage as far as I can remember so I discounted it.. I visited London to check on some of the answers but till couldn't get hold of a lot of the books I wanted! Here's to next year!!
A last-minute solution for the violinist birth, too late unless you're within a walk of the Faber offices - Ian McEwan's The Child in Time.

Peter Carey, William Golding and Michael Dibdin look to be the only Faber authors among the answers.
Do you remember last year the fuss we had trying to find out who won? If anyone who has subscribed wins would they lets us know and the runners up. It would be nice just to know that they have awarded a prize or two.
