In the UK, can shops round a sub-total amount up i.e 63p to 65p!

The could also round it up to �1 if they wanted - or even �5 or anything else they choose.

You can choose to take your custom elsewhere, of course. That's the other side of the coin.
They can try. You don't have to pay it. But then, if you refuse to pay that amount they don't have to sell the goods to you!
if they try rounding up why not argue the point and offer them a rounded down amount.

e.g. 63p they want to round up to 65p - offer them 60p. you never know
