Strange key on inside of Vauxhall Astra petrol cap ?

I have a Vauxhall Astra Club 2000 model and have noticed there is a small round key in a clip on the inside of the petrol cap cover - cant find a reference to it in the manual - any idea what its for anyone ?

I had an Astra a while ago and someone suggested it was for removing the dust caps on your wheels? It does seem to do the job well but would seem a very trivial 'tool'? Maybe if they are on very tight...(or for the ladies and their little fingers...)

I'm just guessing but I put the alarm override key inside the petrol cap cover on my bmw.
