why do folk need to hide using pseudonyms on ab ?is it insecurity?

after a comment from goody on another thread this crossed my mind.
why would someone who comes on ab feel the need to use a name not normally theirs , we will call it a fake name?
is there something lacking in their normal conversation with folk that makes them turn from jekyll to hyde?
i much prefer people who are honest .
in fairness they get more respect from me.
for example,and its only an example,goody anmd myself tend to classh over almost everything.
but i dont believe shes the type to hide behind a fake name , for example baddie , lol , just to get digs at me or anyone else.
it does seem though that there are more than a few split personalities on ab.
i just dont understand why they do it or what they get from it.
is it some perverse sense of superiority or just a way of venting anger at problems in their own sad little lives ?

I too am confused about this. We are all anon anyway. I just don't know why people come on here with several user names! It's very confusing and makes it difficult to get to know someone (as much as one can on the internet) and find a raport. Also I don't understand the need to post false questions, nor the need to get abusive instead of having reasoned debate.
