My cat who's age is unknown, but we think about 13-15yrs old ,we have also been told by the vet she was going deaf and is now totally deaf, her behaviour has changed. we recently moved house and slowly got her used to the move but over the last few days she has become quite withdrawn and has started to sit in the litter tray (she used to go outside before) and will also hide behind things (while licking herself for long periods) she is also not as cuddley as before and prefers to be on her own., she is also will cry a lot even if we are around her, her paws have just started to feel warm.
Are these behaviour/symtoms changes due to our move or do you think it could be her age and she is losing it a bit?, we are worried about her as she has changed completly over the last few days, can anyone help?.

Hi I am sorry to say that your cat might be nearing the end of her life. I used to have an old cat who was partially blind and deaf, he behaved exactly the same and in the end we took him to the vets and she said he was just a living object that had no quality of life so we had him put to sleep, it was very heartbreaking. However, this might not be the case your cat might be stressed from moving house. My advice would be to leave it for a few days then take her to the vets if no improvement. By the way is she eating?
Hi mrsladys, how recently did you take her to the vet? Did they mention anything then? She could just feel a bit confused by the move and not being able to hear anything? I agree with tigwig, if you don't see a change in the next day or so I'd take the cat to the vet to be on the safe side and a professional opinion.

Thanks for your info, Yes she is still eating and drinking as normal and the 1st few weeks of moving she seemed happy and was acting normal, we managed to reduce the stress of a new house quite well, the only thing we did not do was allow her outside (due to no cat flap), she seemed really happy but the last few days her behaviour has changed radically. Thanks anyway but you guys have confirmed our worst fears, taking her to vets in about 3 days, keep your fingers crossed for us.
hope that she is ok it is really upsetting seeing them so different x

We Have now seen the vet, she has a chest infection and a bad reaction to some flee bites ( she has got flees since moving into new house) Vet has given her some tablets and flee stuff, sprayed whole house with spray given to us by vet and cat is starting to get back to norm but still not entering some rooms (we think she got bitten alive in them) and vet sad she will take her time and just let her make the moves. Thank you guys anyways...she has many more years left...yipeeeee
Glad to hear she is ok probably come around to cuddles in her own time
