i am new to vista and have a program (old speedtouch driver/program) installed im trying to remove before i install the new one. but vista keeps telling me i need permission from the administrator to remove it. i am the administrator. I am the only user. how do i remove it or better still. how do i completely disable this unwanted protection? ive tried removing the UAC (user account control) check and this didn't help. cheers

dont worry. there was a conflict with the old program/driver and vista. i restored to before installation and removed the check on UAC so it doesn't happen again.

my laptop can surf the internet to its little harts content.

if you are new to vista ...don't disable uac .... not yet at least .... get to know your way round first
