18a Home for [Bull] sounds like that rather than [Bear]. (4) B?R? Obvious to the rest of you, maybe....

I am thinking Byre. Buyer (bull) as opposed to seller (bear)

but a byre is a cow shed!

What else can it be?
Hello, K. Byre is the only answer I can think of, I was just waiting to see if anyone came up with anything else. I have been through the alphabet but nothing seems obvious.
Sorry cesdlv, but it is not obvious to me.
Hi Argee . I've been thinking about this one since yesterday and am still not 100% happy but as you say what else?

It can't be barn surely?

Regards K
I think I prefer byre to barn, but I am not convinced. You do realise that a copy of a dictionary might rest on this!

Thank you, all. I decided on byre (for buyer = bull in stock market) at 4.30 this am, so nice to have the answer confirmed, and also nice to learn that it stretched others.
I'm sure Araucaria would be flattered to know about this website. I thought 24129 was one of his best..
