Broken lap top charging socket - can it be fixed?

Hello, I have a problem with charging my lap top because the socket where you connect the charger is broken. There's a 'pin' inside that the charger pushes onto and this has snapped off. Can it be fixed and if so how costly is this likely to be? Yours hopefully Lulu

My Son broke the same part of my Laptop a couple of years ago, and I was advised that it needed a new Motherboard.

Fortunately I was able to get a brand new Laptop via my household contents insurance.

Do you have household contents insurance? If so, try and get a new Laptop through them.
