drug convictions and going to USA

I have a drug conviction from 12 years ago. Was told I couldnt come to USA for 10 years cos of this. Im now due to go on holiday to USA in 4 weeks and throught reading stuff on net discovered I need to apply for visa or risk it, I havent got time to get visa, What information do USA have on us (UK) I really didnt know it mattered now and im panicking now as im taking my kids.

The extent of the information held by the US authorities on UK citizens doesn't seem to be a matter of public knowledge. They may or may not have details of your conviction. Even if they do it may not be readily available to the Immigration service at your point of entry.

Sorry - no real help.... You really only have the option of risking it or cancelling.

Doesn't stop well known american celebrities coming over here with serious drug problems and previous convictions for drugs and deadly weapons!!! Shouldn't see why it should stop tourists from England with old convictions entering America.

i'm sure there are hundreds of people like you who have entered America with similar convictions.

By the way does anyone on here know of anyone who has been refused when landed and what happened to them ?

hi sorry to say this but I have heard of someone been sent back when arriving at immigration in Florida. He too was travelling with family and you don't get a refund and have to pay for your own flight back i know its a pain but if you don't want to take the risk then you should have got a visa. My husband had to and it cost �70 and travel expenses to London and back and a day off work but now he has one and it lasts 10 years
