I am nearly thirty weeks pregnant with no 3, not planned, but starting to feel excited and a bit scared. no 1 was a labour which I was not prepared for at all, no 2 was a breeze and then I had after pains which no-one had warned me about at all for about 5 days after. I have been warned with no 3 that there is a higher chance of haemorrhaging and they may fly at me with a big needle?!? Anyone got anything to add or helpful advice?

Im only on number 2 myself so cant really help, but I do know that my sister, who has had three, found each one easier and easier. Her first one was a nightmare and she needed a blood transfusion, her second went smoothly with no complications, and her third was even better!
Just remember, every woman and every pregnancy is different but it is good to know all the possibilities pf what why and how.
A chat with your midwife should put you more at ease :)

Now going back to the after pains with your second lol.......I dont like the sound of that!!
i had number 3 at home, (and number 2) went into labour - big time - at 4pm and she arrived at 6pm. it was a breeze, it definitly gets easier as you go along (well it did for me anyway)

hope all goes well :)

like the other lady said, every pregnancys different. In my family, all the relatives said the after pain gets worse the more you have, but I do breast feed at the start, so maybe that makes them worse?
Hello, I was told that the after pain gets worse with every pregnancy. ive had two children and with the second the after pains were much much worse with the first.
Hmmmm.....I dont actually recall getting them with my first....what exactly are they like anyway? Ive been told theyre like contractions.

Sounds like I was lucky not to have them with my first then. Mine were nothing like contractions. Painful sharp shooting pain up me jacksie, first one made me jump to the other side of the room
lol ok thanks, at least now Im prepared for them...well...if you can be prepared for them! lol

If you can't manage any other exercise Psychick, then at least go swimming and its supposed to be better the fitter you are. All I need to know is, how are you supposed to exercise your bladder?
I should start that up again nuttymum, I would swim regulary during my first pregnancy and found so relaxing.......yet tiring? lol The only reason I stopped was because I found it too difficult in the end.
But thanks, I will definately get back into it :)
ummm, no dont remember major pains like those, just had the normal afterbirth pains when it all contracts back again, I did breastfeed all mine and yes they are stronger, something to do with it helps contract faster.
