Atlantis travelled for 2 days before landing, during which it might get heated up to a very high temperature because of continously acting drag force, due to which it may explode, then why is it not so??

It is kept cool by the heat shields.

About four years ago the shuttle Columbia had her heat shields damaged during flight and broke up about 40 miles above Earth, killing all 7 crew.
The space shuttle is supplied for maintaining a safe orbit a suitable distance above the atmosphere for a few days while awaiting an opportunity to land at one of several sites "weather permitting". Once it enters the atmosphere it is essentially a glider committed to land where it will with limited guidance potentials and virtually no options.
