Wedding present - how much cash?

I'm going to the evening do of a somewhat unconventional wedding in a few weeks. The couple have asked for money as a gift.

The bride and groom are more than aquaintences, but not "close" friends of ours (hence being invited to the evening do only), but we like them very much and wish them well.

How much money do you suggest I put in the envelope with their card? I don't want to over-do it, but I wouldn't like to be mean either.

Any suggestions?

For close friends i would put about 40-50 in, but as they are only aquaintences i would put about 20-30.

Anything you put in they are gonna be grateful!

xx
I agree with cutejenna

20-30 is more than enough as a gift.

Hope you have a nice time :o)
ad say 100 for close family or best mates.50 if u r going to the full doo.30 plenty for a nitetime bash...at least they had the decency not to put round an gift list.
i didn't personally but whats wrong with a gift list? nobody wants 20 toasters they can't take back!! i'd be more upset at no suggestion at all from the bride and groom as to what they wanted!
