How do you delete songs from an ipod, without actually deleting them from the computer?

uncheck the box in your list in itunes, then attach the ipod and it will automatically update, so will remove the unchecked ones. Unless of course you have your ipod set to manual?

It's a brand new ipod, only arrived yesterday!!! So the settings are as they arrived. Thanks.
