I have a dual core Laptop using Vista. I took some video shots with my camera yesterday, and this morning tried putting the shots together to make one movie using Windows Movie Maker which comes with the Microsoft package . It seized up for about the forth time in mid session and after trying everything I closed it down using file manager as it was not responding. Then I tried to start it up again to carry on with editing the video, however I keep getting the following message: 'Another user is running Windows Movie Maker on this computer. Please close other session before starting Windows Movie Maker again.' I have looked everywhere but cannot find how to close the previous session as it is no longer on my screen or anywhere else for that matter.. Any ideas?

It could be that windows movie maker is running ia copy of itself. Such as covertly loading up at startup ETC. The only thing i can suggest is to unistall windows movie maker and then restrat your computer. Now reinstall windows movie maker. If this is no help then i am of no help
Try rebooting (assuming you haven't already done so).

WMM isn't bad for a free prog (though the output options are a bit limited); it does tend to lock up a fair bit, though - save regularly!

Thanks to you both for your replies. I have rebooted amongst other things. Think I will give up on Movie Maker.
