bin files are just binary files
in this case I'm guessing the file is an image of the CD containing the original files not the music files themselves

a free tool that will allow you to use this file as it it is a CD and play the music files is here
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/916902

(if the bin can't be seen rename the file to iso
music.bin > music.iso)

I think its some kind of codec I am missing. I already have xvid on my laptop same as desktop. Cant think what diferent on my desktop to my laptop to make it play on one and not other.
ahhhhh I didn't read the question properly
that's different .... you are just missing the codec

http://www.free-codecs.com/Video_Codecs.htm
or an all in one package
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Cod ec_Pack.htm

that should do it
