This is a sign it is getting too hot.

Does it have space for air to circulate around it ?

If it is a few years old the fans and air vents may be clogged with dust.

If you have overclocked it then maybe you have done it too much.

How often?
monthly, weekly or after 10 mins?

(I'm thinking VHG is right if after 10-20 mins)

ty all for the replys you asked how long before it turns off it can be anything from 5 minutes to 4 hours but its getting more n more
It's almost definately heat stress
and they can be an absolute bu***r to find.

It's possible that one of your components isn't seated correctly .... try reseating cards and plugs ...
It only costs a little time.
BUT STAY AWAY FROM THE PROCESSOR!!!!!!!!
move that and you'll break the thermal seal and could well destroy it.

The other thing you could try is disconnecting everything that isn't vital ... CD/DvD floppy ... sound card ... etc etc
