vauxhall zafira not starting

keys in ignition turned on. engine totally dead but electrics, radio, lights,wipers, dashboard lights up. no spluttering or anything from engine. whats wrong

Either the immobiliser is playing up, if you have one fitted, or the battery is on it's way out. Some modern cars refuse to start with a low battery even though other electrical items work.
i'd go with immobiliser problem. you'll know if its battery when you turn the key. if the starter motor clicks or the dash lights dull its the battery. if there is nothing at all, its immobiliser. Unless your starter has given up. All i can think of!! Hope this helps
I had this when I had a Corsa- it was the immobiliser....Can only suggest what I used to do switch the ign. back off-remove the key & re-insert-try again & was usually ok....

vauxhall zafira. its now fixed. it was the selenoid so i just got full new starter motor to be on the safe side. thanks to you all for your good answers.
