dog goes mad in car

when we go out in the car my sharpei goes mental we have 2 our bitch is fine but our dog starts to bark and then trys scratching his way out the boot any ideas would be great we have tried a spray from our vets and that didnt seem to do anything

It sounds like he may be very anxious in the car. If this is the case one way of desensitizing him would be to put him in the car without driving - I assume when you say the boot you have a hatch back/estate, leave the tailgate open put him in and get in sit on edge make lots of fuss, try feeding him in there anything that you can do that he enjoys until he associates being in the car as a good thing.
