We pulled out of a purchase 1 week before contracts were to be exchanged. We found out belatedly that next doors back garden was to have 6 properties on it overlooking our future garden. If the seller had been upfront it would not have been necessary to continue. Your case seems different. Some people are very reluctant to make major decisions even though she must have involved expenses in getting to this stage. Not much you can do but dont impress on her your urgent desire to get out..it .might make her want to pull out.
nothing you can do about it,it happens all the time,as long as there is no signature, then they can pull out
Not only can they pull out but they can pull the old 'we have found something that needs repair please drop the price a couple of grand' trick, which means you either have to take a drop or start all over again with another buyer. Not fair but that is the law in this country.
I develop houses and believe me people can and do pull out all the time. We once had someone pull out of a sale on the actual day we were to sign contracts. It is annoying expensive and a total waste of time but alas unless the law changes there is nothing you can do :o( Scotland has the right idea in my oppinion.
