Ulcers on fish

My fish in the garden pond have develpoed what seem to be ulcers on their sides. We have treated the water but the ulcers are still there. we have lost quite a lot of fish now. Any ideas?

Hi - are they koi? Mine had what looked like ulcers and it turns out that it was carp pox - caused by stress, and bad water quality - but I didn't lose any though. There is no treatment as such other than to ensure your pond water is balanced (do you test it regularly for PH, nitrite etc ) I think they also suggested that I give the affected ones a salt bath - but if you put carp pox into google then it will give you pics so you can confirm and the correct dosage for any salt baths.
