I hope some can help me with a issue I have with my DVD recorder.

I am trying to record freeview using a liteon dd-a500gx, the TV I have has freeview built in, when I go to scan for channels on the DVD recorder all I manage to get is the usual bbc1 bbc2 itv etc, but no free view.

Many thanks

That is because BBC, ITV etc, are still transmitting in Analogue. and come down your ariel lead. Your Freeview channels will either be on channel AV1 or AV2, depending on how many SCART sockets you have and which one the TV is plugged into.
The downside is if you want to record a freeview channel, your freeview box will have to be on that channel for it to record. So you won't be able to record one freeview channel, whilst watching another. You could buy another freeview box and link that to your liteon.
Hope this helps.

steve thank you for your reply. i have two scart sockets on my tv, which one do you suggest i connect the recorder to so when i scan for channels it picks up av1 / av2 .

many thanks
Unless your dvd recorder has a freeview tuner, it will never pick up the freeview channels.

It makes no difference whether you use AV1 or AV2.

You will have to set the recorder to record the AV channel manually, and make sure the tv is tuned in to the correct freeview channel.

If you turn your tv off or change stations, the recording will be spoilt.
