According to the site we can`t get it where I live, but we do. It is a case of asking people around you if they receive it.
Check to see how good your Channel 5 (and Channel 4) signals are as well as Teletext. The better they are, the more likely you are to receive Freeview. (See if you can borrow a Freeview box from a friend). Bear in mind that an aerial upgrade might be needed.
go to www.freeview.co.uk and type in your postcode.

It will then tell you what channels you can recieve.
Just buy a freeview box now and if you can't recieve any channels at least it will be handy for 2011 when they switch off terrestrial. The channel 5/4 thing is rubbish as is the postcode thing because it depends entirely on your arial.
saying its the arial is true, but whats stupid is at uni i can get free veiw, with a arial booster and indoor arial, tho e4 requires me moving the arial....where as at home we have a huge arial that supplys my tv and it dosent get any itv channels, well it gets them but u cant watch them there too jumpy, so basically its noy just dependent on ur arialb its dependant in the signal broadcasted in ur are, tho just try it, u might get some channels but not all.... best bet as said oreviousky is ask around and try and borrow one.
My postcode says that I can only get channels BBC 1, 2 3 etc.

I can get far more than that - though occasionally the reception can be a bit temperamental.

You could also explore the possibilities of Sky - for 150 ish they will install a dish and give you a receiver which will give you their equivalent of freeview (you miss out on a couple of channels - E4, ABC1) but may be worth it
