my friend is going into hospital for an operation. She has been told she will not be able to work for 8 weeks .She will not receive any pay from work other than statutary sick pay, during this time the place in whitch she works
close over whit for one week, the first day is whit monday a bank holliday the other 4 days are payed hollidays. The wages clerk has told her she will not be payed for the bank holliday, as the firms policy states you must not have any time off work the day before or the day after a bank holliday if you do you will not be payed for the bank holliday. The wages clerk has told her she will be payed for the 4 days holliday. Is the firm allowed to do this even though she will have a doctors note for the time she will be off.
