A few months ago I attempted to claim back my bank charges totalling 2500. I get a bit scared by the thought of court and accepted their offer of 1000. Now I have seen that the court case is more of a scare tactic and you are almost certain to win. Is it possible for me to start my claim again for the remaining 1500? Also, my account is still in a bad way and I have been charged since. Is it possible for me to claim the charges back since I settled my last claim?

I suspect you are not telling the whole story. It is just not feasible they paid you 1000 without getting you to sign a document agreeing this compensation in full and final settlement. In which case, that's it, I think.

Sorry yes, I didn't omit that intentionally.
I think you are being a bit greedy dont you? Not everything in life boils down to money you know - if you cant manage your account properly then why should the bank give you back your fees? Which you are made aware of! Perhaps you need to look at your finances in more details and curb some of your overspending.

Thank you for you answer Chitchat. It may seem as though I am being greedy but it's not a case of me just wanting money, the money I received previously went straight to paying other bills, not a single penny was spent frivorously. How are the banks allowed to be so greedy with a charge of 35.00 a time. I have run my account very badly and this is something I am desperately trying to gain control of again, however when I am being charged sometimes over 100 a month by the bank it makes it increasinly difficult to get back within my overdraft. Don't get me wrong, I agree with banks charging for unauthorised overdrafts and returned direct debits but what their current charges are, are simply too high and make it almost impossible for people like myself to try and get back to running their accounts properly. I'd also like to point out that I spend next to nothing on myself. No holidays, no going out, no shopping sprees, no nothing so it's not simply a case of me spending money willy nilly.
No i dont think it is possible to start again. In all probability, you accepted the 1k on the condition that you dropped the claim for the rest of the money, this will probably be detailed on the form you signed
Hi Milly

Looks like "Chitchat" is having an off day!!
Anyway, just wondered which bank it was? Did you open a parachute account before claiming back from them? Did they threaten to close your account when you started your claim?
My apoligies for assuming you were being frivorlous with you money. I thought having already received 1000 in refunded fees that would have set you back into credit. I dont know what your circumstances are but it just came across that you had your money refunded and were wanting more to get yourself out of trouble again. I do get cross with people who cant or wont manage their accounts properly and are now jumping on the bandwagon to get the fees refunded. There are lots of people who have gone without to ensure that they dont overdraw on their accounts and I am one of the them. But why should some people get money refunded because they cant or wont control their spending? If you fall into that category then tough live with it and if you dont then I am sorry.

If you are struggling with your finances have tried to get help from CAB or even the bank may have some options to help you.
