My rear windscreen wiper has broken. The MOT is due on the car next month. If it is not repaired, could the car fail it's MOT? Advice please. Thanks.

No - mine was missing when it went in for the MOT last year and it passed fine. When you think about it, saloons generally don't even have wipers on the back, so not compulsory. The front, obviously, is a different matter.
Yes, get it fixed.
no
Just take the arm off, it will past mot.
Unlike Front Screen Wipers, rear screen wipers are not a legal requirement on cars.

Your car will not fail an MOT due to broken rear wiper.
You should be fine, as my car doesn't even have a rear windscreen wiper!
And I've never had any problems with MOTs - well not relating to wipers anyway!
