Whenever I save pages of written information from Internet sites, they mostly download with accompanying folders. So, if I only wish to save the written material, I throw the folder into the recycle bin and, as the written items go along with it, I then retrieve the files and leave the folders in the bin for final disposal. I do end up with a less cluttered document section in the computer; with pages devoid of unwanted material.....pop-up adverts etc.

I feel sure other folk do similar things. Are you one of them?.

Why do you want to know this? What a strange question.

Why don't you just save it as a web archive (.mht) file then you will only have 1 file from the start?

Sorry Kerplunk, you obviously know more about computers than I do. Consequenty, I am lost by your answer but would wish to learn more as regards filling relevant information without unecessary additions being included......Ron
When saving the page:

File --> Save As

Change "save as type" to Web Archive.

Thanks Kerplunk.......I didn't realise one could do it the way you have explained. I suppose some O.A.P,s, like me, do sometimes ask what appear to be silly questions. However I am delighted that you have detailed exactly what I need to do.

I've now tried-out the method and am very pleased. Thanks again..Best wishes ..Ron
In XP. When you save an internet page it saves as a htm file. It will also save a folder that contains any artwork, pictures or detail. The two come in pairs. If you delete an htm page you will note that the folder deletes with it.
Surely what you are doing gives a page without the extra detail just text. ?
