could anyone please tell me why when I fit an inline filter to my phone line to split for broadband my computer wont connect to the internet, even though I have a dialing tone, although if I remove the filter I can connect to the internet but if the phone rings it disconnects( as you would expect as it makes it like a dial up connection). If it helps I have just had the main line box moved although this was done by a qualified technicion.thanks

dodgy filter maybe, have you tried another one or maybe the technicion was not as qualified as he should have been but its easy enough to make a mistake on small telephone wires think your first route should be try another filter that you can be sure is working if that dont work then phone the ginger beer up that moved your socket and ask him for his opinion
I agree .... just a thought ... you do have filters in ALL your other (connected) sockets don't you?
