I should have known that was gona happen.. So here's my question anyway..

Following the advice on tackling my internet connection problem.. It's still saying limited or no connectivity, but that's the least of my worries..
The real issue is that my laptop is just so so slow!! I've nvr known anything like it! I've used crap cleaner on it and I've uninstalled norton and gone back to Zone alarm and AVG but it's still too damn slow!!! Anyone got any other ideas?
Or if I can't fix it can I sue Norton?!!!

Im sure Norton has some kind of disclaimer for that so don't even bother. Try one more thing. Download Avast, its an antivirus program. I know you already have one but try it anyway. Its Completely FREE. Its a 60 day trial but if you decide you want to keep it, it's still free. When you go to the link i've provided to you, scroll down a little and you will see a list of different versions. Download the one that applies to you. Its just a choice of languages to choose from. Then start the program, uppdate it by clicking the little lightning bolt thing, turn on "scan local drives" by clicking the upper right icon just above the cd looking thing. Then click the play button on the left. This may take a considerable time to complete the scan but it's worth a try. If it finds anything, just do what it suggests and move it to the chest. I can almost gaurantee you that it will find something. If you do not want the program when you are done, just uninstall it.

sound like you have something trying to run in the background
I know you probably already have but run adaware AND spybot. there are a few good cleaners out there. ashampoo`s winoptimizer3 hoovers out a fair bit of debris and you can control startup programs too. it was given away last month on windows xp mag. but as always USE WITH CAUTION. this site will give you the rundown on the best free stuff http://www.techsupportalert.com/best_46_free_u tilities.htm#2
