I currently shave my head and I was wondering if it is safe and/or advisable to use more permanent methods, i.e. waxing/hair removal creams/etc, instead so I don't slice half of my scalp off when I shave?

Waxing would be very painful. Hair removal creams would work, but the risk of getting them in your eyes would be high....they could do real damage there. If you want a really permanent solution then laser hair removal is probably your best bet: the hair will not grow back, ever. It is likely to be very expensive, though.
