In the Vinnie Jones RAC advert, how does the RAC track down his car when it seems to be in the wilderness?

I gathered that, but how does it pick up an indivual car, what does it beam on?

Perhaps it traces the mobile phone that Vinnie's girlfriend is using or maybe sho (the girlfriend) tells them where she is.

they have satalite tracking on mobile phones when you become a member

I wonder how many organisations also have the ability to track you down, to some extent it's frightening.
