A dentist once told me that you need to take something containing codeine. Or you could seek advice from the pharmacist.
clove oil may help.
The most powerful thing you can buy is paramol ( paracetamol+dihydracodiene) It is excellent for toothache but can cause drowsiness. Think you.ve not to be asthmatic or any heart liver or kidney problems. Hope you.ve made an appointment at the dentist!!
Oil of cloves is right..... you can get that from any Holland & Barrett's or health food shop, just soak some cotton wool with it and keep in on your tooth for a while until it stops... should only take a couple of minutes.

Alternatively, try simply resting a clove from your spice rack or from the supermarket in the spices aisle, on yor tooth... a bit powerful tasting but hey, the pain stops.....

Good luck! X
You can get oil of cloves from Boot`s
While Nurofen (which you can get cheaper in supermarkets etc under the generic name ibuprofen) is not as strong as codeine, it doesn't make you as drowsy and it's anti-inflammatory, which really helps if you have toothache.
Paramol or Ibuprofen + Paracetamol is probably best until you can get to a dentist.
Clove Oil does not work, any reports of actual success will largely be related to the placebo effect.
