I haven't stayed there myself, but if it's the one I am thinking of, it's a little out of the centre, but good if you want to be near the airport, as it's about a 15 minute drive up Avenida de America, to which the Travelodge is very close. I suppose you cannot go wrong with a Travelodge though!

If you want to be further in the centre, try one of the NH hotels. They're dotted around and are quite good. Their website has an English button on it so no probs there.
I looked on the Travelodge website and there seem to be two Travelodges in Madrid: the Las Rozas on Calle Peru and the Torrelaguna on Calle Torrelaguna. Which one are you considering?

If it's the first one, look here for some reviews:

If it's the second one, look here:

To late now, I have just booked it, the one in Torrelaguna, got 5 nights in a family room for only 23 a night, and as my flights cost 0.01p plus tax I think I am spending my pension wisely. Happy days
