With xmas day falling on a monday this year, what, if anything, will you prepare or cook the saturday or sunday before xmas day.

I'll probably make my trifle on the saturday and i might even cook the turkey on sunday. Banoffee pie on sunday too.

That just leaves the spuds, veg and yorkshires on the big day.

Thoughts, suggestions, tips are all welcome

i always do all my prep on the night before and cook the turkey, that way i have lots of time to enjoy the morning with the children
Similar to you hammerman. I'm going to make a tirimasu on Christmas Eve (instead of a trifle this year for a change). Will probably cook Turkey night before. I do tend to cheat on Christmas Day and get preprepared veggies like honey parsnips, garlic roast potatoes, spiced red cabbage though and fresh gravy.

We have a busy morning visiting my nan at the nursing home so usually get back late afternoon its easier to have things all in the oven. Will have freshly prepared sprouts though - that's a must!

Enjoy your Christmas weekend!!! :o)

I will cook a gammon on the Sat and have it on Xmas Eve ( for the first time) with salad and Dauphinois potatoes yummy.
Have already made the stuffing and frozen it, will do sausage and bacon rolls today and freeze them. Doing all the veg the day before saves so much time and once the turkey is in then Christmas morning can be relaxed.
Boxing Day - cold turkey and the aforesaid gammon, Jacket potatoes and bubble and squeak.
Between then and New Year - turkey and gammon served in various forms !
Hammerman - if it isn't too much trouble - and if you have the time - could you please let us know if we gave you what you needed or if we need to keep looking?

Thanks for your help.
