Here is my math question which I need to set up an equation and find the answer. A fair sells tickets for both children and adults. The price of a child's ticket is $5 and the price of an adult ticket is $8. The fair had 1050 people attend and it took in $7350. How many of each type of ticket were sold?

Sold 350 childrens tickets @ $5 each = $1,750
Sold 700 adult tickets @ $8 each = $5,600
Total 1,050 tickets sold for = $ 7,350

using X = no. of children tickets sold
using Y = no. of adult tickets sold

You can form 2 equations -
5X + 8Y = 7,350
X+Y = 1,050
etc
