Euskarian is a Basque language.
I found the following:

History of the language
from the Basque language article
At the beginning of the Christian Era, dialects of Euskarian (Basque) stock were probably spoken north and south of the Pyrenees and as far east as the Valle de Arn in northeastern Spain. It is ...

That's all I could get of the article as it was for subscribers only with Britannica. Hope it's enough to help?
Hi redheap - according to Chambers Dict. Euskarian is an adjective meaning Basque - from Euskara, the Basque language
Checked Chambers again for ant - ergates is a worker ant
Jestbook: Clutching at straws a bit, but PASQUINADING is a form of joking (public satire or lampoon)
the only 11-letter word I can come up with for stockings is:

spatterdash [ spttər dsh ] (plural spatterdashes)

Definition:

knee-length covering: a knee-length cloth or leather legging formerly worn to protect clothing from water or mud spatters.

It doesn't fit the letters you've given, but I felt it worth a try.

Between Clive and Lewis refers to C.S. Lewis = Clive Staples Lewis.

Stockings answer does not work unfortunately.

Beleive it is: "stockings" - ???her?????

jest-book would be ??ogg??
Kinda struggling with the rest, but appreciate all your efforts!
Phil
Gatherings could be stocks of something, but it has one letter short of what you want.

Just figured something else out.

The clue was not Dickenses and Joneses, but actually just Joneses - hence answer of "neighbours".

leaves "stockings from Dickens" as the clue for ???her????? which still doesnt help as it must be some form of stockings etc, so maybe something like gatherings.

thinking on more, clues could therefore also be:
indicating the presence of ???ros????? and the either waterstone and/or implements to answer ??LIT??
