Hoping someone may be able to help.
My ex-husband stopped paying maintenance payments for our daughter 15mnths ago. I have contacted the C.S.A and they have attempted to trace his employment details through the Inland Revenue on several occassions....and failed. They have his address but he is ignoring their letters and phone calls. As a result I have had to return to full time work...long hours less time with my daughter etc. My ex has always had good jobs with resonable income 60k plus . Has anyone got any thoughts on what else I can do?

I hope that you receive this answer as I can see it was posted a few weeks ago. I've had very similar problems to yourself which went on for years and years. The csa been pretty useless but I think they are getting better.Carn't understand why they carnt trace his employment as that would be ideal because they can do a deduction of earnings. However, You should use to CSA's formal complaints precedure which is a lot better than what it use to be like. Through my past experience of the CSA I find that you have to be constantly chasing them up otherwise you end up at back of the que. If your ex is not responding to anything then the csa have the powers to legalise the debt by taking it to court and getting a liability order. This gives them the powers to either put a charge on his house or send in the baliffs. Thats eventually how I got money out of my ex whom is a director of his own company, so an attachment of earnings order fail.
Please respond back to let me know you've recieved this and if you need anymore advice send me your email address.

Hope this is of help

Many thanks for your reply, yes I have been constantly in touch with the C.S.A for the last 18mnths .......have changed caseworker seven times during this time which has not helped. I have no idea why the tracing system they have used is not working, they did find him once and after spending three mnths setting up and order to take his earnings staight from his employer he left ! Back to square one for me.
I will take your tip and make a formal complaint to them and see if that works........no he has not been in touch with them he has not responded to any of their letters or phone calls. He will not respond to any calls I have made to him either so I have stopped trying to contact him, he has no contact with his daughter either.
I will let you know how I get on with the formal complaint, once again many thanks.
