We have just connected our XBOX to our PC via a BELKIN router.
We are now unable to access any Microsoft site, although other sites don't appear to be affected.
Also, we are not able to close web site windows by clicking the 'X'; we have to either right click the site name at the bottom of the screen and select 'Close' or do the Alt,Ctrl, Del thing. Either way, we get the 'program not responding' message and click on 'End now'. This closes all Internet windows and takes us out of the internet and back to the Desktop.
I thought it was probably a problem with I.E.6 so decided to download I.E.7. However, as I stated earlier, we can't get onto any Microsoft site (including Windows update)!
Our OS is Windows XP Home.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

What do you mean 'connection your XBOX to PC via router'?

What sort of connection have you enabled?

I assume you have modem going to router, going to (separately), PC and XBOX?

Seems like I left myself logged in (it wasn't me that asked the original question).

I believe they've got a modem/router in 1. So the PC and Xbox are both connected to the router which (AFAIK) has a built-in modem.
