I asked a few people this but no one knows the answer,

If you were standing in a flying aeroplane, and jumped on the spot will you have moved from your original jump spot?

Anyone help?

What if the flying cat in question was to eat the duck flying towards him. Would he then be classed as a DUCK FILLED FATTYPUSS
To answer LANDIE, we are talking here about a plane moving forward horizontally and not in the downward motion to simulate gravity loss for testing of weightlessness.
If standing on the plane the motion you are doing is the same as the plane. This motion is transmitted by the contact of your feet on the plane. So if a stationary person was looking into the plane they would see your feet doing for this purpose 500mph (the same as the plane) your head would be doing a varying speed of 500mph + or - (unable to give exact value) due to your body compensating to upright itself to a vertical position. But lets assume for your question that the body is exactly vertical (a pendulum is exactly vertical at some point). As soon as you jump, the motion applied to your feet by the plane is no longer taking place so you will then start to slow down, hence you will not land on the same spot.
