Yes it's disappointing and rather dull today, but let's hope it improves. Nevertheless, I'm stuck for 3 answers so if anybody's still out there with Christmas looming, help would be welcome.
13A Fish-eating bird
42D It may be found in a 43 (i.e. 43 A cracker)
57A Small oval rowing boat.
Many thanks, and a happy Christmas and New Year to all you GK folk

13a kingfisher
42a paper hat

And a Happy Christmas to you!
kettledrum Do you remember your "Dolly Varden" answers? We did some good work there without a squeak from the poster!
Good morning, all. Coracle is correct.
Never driven one of these without a mouse before. Terrifying!
Happy Crimble.
Very best wishes to you Aquagility.
crofter - I gave the answer Dolly Varden to 2 different people in 2 different quizzes and got no feedback from either of them.
Did you see this quiz ?

For my own satisfaction i'd love to know who the courtly shepherdess was. Do you have any ideas?
I finally put CIRCE = L(ine) from CIRCLE (a bit weak)
Can you explain 'courtly'?
No!? But I shall revisit the question and come back to you!
Thanks crofter.....I'm not actually doing this quiz but having stuck my neck out to say that Circe cannot be the answer, if I've got to retract I'd like to know why !
kettledrum This was one of the very few quizzes that i usually submit. I didn't feel 100% about Circe but I had to put something in - and I could think of nothing better!
