Hi, We are thinking about getting one. We are confused by energy rating and Kw/H. For example, Currys sell 2.2kwh rated D, 2.73kwh rated F and 3.94kwh rated C.
Confused:-) Also, is it possible that a higher kwh machine will actually use less electricity by drying more quickly?

You want one with the highest possible energy rating - A is highest.

From those you've listed, the higher kwh will use less electricity as you state - it has the best rating.

So, don't worry about the kwh - just looking at the letter rating.

a little tip when buying white goods/tv s and such like.
when the shop anoyingly try to pressure you into buying their expensive aftermarket insurance.ask how much discount they will give you on the item you are buying if you buy their insurance.( if you get �10-20 off then well done. )after two days cancell the insurance and you've got a discount on your goods. (the discount was on the goods not the insurance , and the insurance has a cooling off period. )

Agree with Ethel's analysis. And it is possible that the higher rated machine uses less electricity overall, either by drying more quickly or (more likely) by squeezing more water from the clothes from the spin cycle in the first place, meaning less water to drive out during the drying cycle.

Do you really need one? They knock the stuffing out of anything that you put in them. In my opinion a bad buy.

Thanks to all who answered. Perhaps the "do you really need one?" is the most pertinant point. Lots to think about.
