I worked full time for the 1st 6 months of this tax year, and I am now working 8 hours a week. I am sure I have got taxed way more than I should have cos over the whole year I'll earn only maybe abt 1k more than the 5k threshold, but have been taxed as though I would be working full time the whole year. I'm now in full time education aswell (but still doing 8 hrs work a week at the moment). How do I go about making a claim for a tax rebate, do I have to wait till April and does me being in full time education now affect it in any way?

You will get the rebate gradually over the rest of the tax year with your pay for the 8 hours a week - assuming it's taxed under PAYE. Give your P45 from your full time job to your new employer; if you are with the same employer it will happen automatically.

Being in full time education is irrelevant. The only advantage it gives is that if you only work in the vacations you can by filling in a form avoid paying tax that you later reclaim.
