What is everybody having for Christmas dinner?

Normy's household are having Leek and Watercress soup (home made) Whole Sea Bass, cooked in salt, with Tiger prawns, spinach, mangetout and new potatoes...Washed down with a nice Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, with Ice Cream for pud

Will be the same as usual at my parents', noggin of sherry mid morning then turkey, stuffing, gravy, roast potatoes, carrots, sprouts and cabbage.

Then christmas pud with homemade brandy butter for dessert.

My aunt always does a lovely buffet in the evening, honey and mustard glazed sausages, sandwiches and other nibbles then some homemade trifle and cake and such.
Glad to hear someone else not doing the 'trad' thing , normy. dont know yet, havent decided but not turkey. had rib of beef last year and red snapper year before . maybe game this year. who knows !
We shall be having a cold buffet. Still have a turkey crown, stuffing and sausagemeat but there wont be a sprout in sight! We have 9 for lunch including 3 children and I decided last year after my sister and I spent most of the day in the kitchen that we would have a cold lunch this year without all the hard work!

We are still discussing the menu but it will have loads of different meats, cheeses, salads and pickles. Personally I cannot wait!!!!
Probably just a roast accept only my family would be eating the meat but i probably won't be.
I don't know what the sides and desserts will be yet, but I KNOW we will have the traditional huge ham and huge turkey!!! I am not complaining - the leftovers are great - even after being frozen!!!
Im not doing a starter this year ..I refuse !!!
We are having the trad Turkey carrots peas roasters ,, and some amazing stuffing my hubby makes with cornbread.

for dessert ,, erm ..I have no idea
Im doing a chinese buffet this year for a change with a selection of lemon cheescake, mini profiteroles and strawberry gateux with cream for sweet. Im still having a Xmas cake cos they look all nice + festive:-))
Two are having duck the other 4 fillet steak, served with potatoes, and roast veggies, pudding will be trifle/Christmas pud or possibly chocolate pud!

Christmas is special, so we have what we really like.
We're going with goose, a beef joint stuffed with mushrooms and tarragon, as well as all the usual veg you get with a roast dinner. My sister is in charge of the puddings, again we're being traditional.

My aim is not to cook as if it's the feeding of the five thousand, just the five of us who are actually going to be present.

We'll have the usual cold buffet stuff ready to feed guests and ourselves with at a moments notice.
Gonna be trad for us. My brother is cooking and he's an excellent cook! Has a dishwasher too so no washing up...yaaay!

Couldn't wash up in my straight jacket anyway eh normy? lol
lol NiceCupOfTea - I had never thought of it before - but that is what our family holiday tables look like we are doing - if we hadn't eaten for a week we couldn't possibly eat all of the food!!! :)
Merry Christmas from this Southern USA old lady and thanks for the laugh!!!
