Has anyone been to Hua Hin or Cha Am in Thailand? What's it like?

Been to Hua Hin would recommend it but stay in hua hin as cha am is about 20min taxi ride and nothing else there except the hotel complexes. We stayed in the royal palace garden hotel couldn't say anything negative, about five min taxi ride from centre of hua hin with nice restaraunts and bars. This is a couple's resort and not like pattaya or the other wild places, Have a look in the premier holidays brochure.
My husband and I stayed at the Cha Am Beach Resort, which was lovely, many facilities but recommened staying in the Chalets rather than the hotel. Beaches stretched for miles and lovely attentive staff. Hau Hin is excellent shopping, bars, restuarants - you must explore to get what you want! We are back again this year! If you enjoy relaxing, shopping and exploring - especially eating then these resorts are excellent. (Beware of the SAGA crowd in Cha Am)!!!
